Jason Momoa is ready to become a king in Aquaman. A new, extended Aquaman trailer has been released for the upcoming superhero film, showing off the detailed special effects and grand scale of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis.
While the first trailer for Aquaman had plenty of action and quite a few looks at Momoa’s muscles, the latest extended look gives fans a better idea of the story and the scale that the movie will have. This adventure will follow Momoa’s Arthur Curry, giving the half-human, half-Atlantean hero as he goes on “the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king,” according to the Warner Bros. official site.
The trailer shows off Curry doing battle against his brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), who wants Atlanteans to wage war against the humans above, as well as an exciting fight on the surface with Black Manta (Yahya-Abdul Mateen), a treasure hunter and mercenary who wants the advanced Atlantean technology Curry is looking for.
This lengthy trailer is the one that fans got to see if they attended the Hall H presentation at Comic-Con in San Diego in Summer 2018. Now, everyone can check it out. The trailer shows the sort of swashbuckling, Indiana Jones-type adventure movie that director James Wan put together—and don’t miss the absolutely glorious money shot at the end of Momoa in the classic Aquaman costume.
