'Game of Thrones' Just Released Eight Single-Malt Whiskeys

Winter is coming, but we’ll have to wait until April 2019 to feel its chill. Fortunately for die-hard fans, Game of Thrones has released eight bottles of special-edition whiskey (one for each season) to hold us over until the final, impressively expensive season airs.

Teaming up with Johnnie Walker brand Diageo, HBO has named each bottle after a notable house of Westeros, from House Stark to House Tyrell, and even all-black version for the men of the Night’s Watch. Each was created at a different Scottish distillery that was matched with a house based on their history and location.

“Scotland, much like the Seven Kingdoms, has a diverse and varied landscape,” says Dan Sanborn, senior vice president of culture and partnerships at Diageo told the Chicago Tribune. “Each distillery has its own unique character and produces a distinctive whisky representative of the local Scottish terroir.”

If you’re more interested in showing support for the dead beyond The Wall, Johnnie Walker has also released a limited-edition White Walker whiskey earlier this year. No stranger to alcohol partnerships, the HBO show has also previously partnered with companies like Brewery Ommegang and Vintage Wine Estates to create specially made beverages with names like “Queen of the Seven Kingdoms” and “King in the North”.

So while you’re waiting to find out who will finally sit on the Iron Throne, grab a bottle of your favorite house’s single-malt, binge the previous seven seasons, and enjoy.

The bottles are available now while supplies last and start from $30.
