Jason Momoa knows how to throw an axe. Turns out, he’s pretty good at throwing a trident, too. The Aquaman star stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night ahead of his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live, and he showed off some of the skills he learned while making the DC superhero film.
Momoa is no stranger to throwing sharp objects—and doing it well. Momoa spoke about his love of axe-throwing in his Men’s Journal cover story and how to get it just right.
“The trick,” Momoa said, “is to throw straight, release early, and don’t bend your wrist. People always bend their wrists, like they’re throwing a football spiral or a baseball.”
Even though it wasn’t axe-throwing, Momoa showed off his skills using a trident.
