Dwayne Johnson Needs a New Name for His Tequila Brand. What Should It Be?

Anyone who follows Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on Instagram knows his drink of choice is tequila. So it’s no surprise Johnson’s been looking to expand his portfolio with his own line, which would put him in a big group of celebrities who have their own liquor brands.

Earlier in April 2018, Johnson applied to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with the name “Mana”—a belief in the Pacific Islands that people have an innate supernatural, magical power. But, reportedly, the name was “too similar to other products,” according to The Blast. So if Johnson really wants this, he’s going to have to think up a new name.

Johnson and his team have a “grace period” where they can apply again for a tequila brand with a different name.

Afternoon tequila 🥃 on set of HOBBS & SHAW with my brother and biz partner @michaelseanbailey, the President of Production for Walt Disney Studios. Sean and I made JUNGLE CRUISE together with our partner in crime, Emily Blunt aka Mary Pizoppins – which will be released in the summer of 2020. He pushes himself, his execs and his production teams hard to achieve greatness. Love rollin’ up my sleeves and puttin’ in the work with this guy. Afternoon tequila is reserved for the special circle. #omerta #hardestworkersintheroom I was a lil’ drunk shooting some scenes where I punch @jasonstatham in the face because of this meeting 😈

As he’s shown over the course of his career—with his major success in movies and television, and ventures in fitness apparel—if Johnson is determined to achieve something, he’ll find a way.

What name do you think he should try next? Let us know on Twitter and Facebook.
