Once in a while a product comes along that’s so ridiculous, it’s ingenious. It’s even better when it’s made by a company that embraces the ridiculousness, and has fun with it. It’s best when the product turns out to be a practical, useful piece of gear that’s fun and inventive all at the same time.
That’s Chillbo Shwaggins.
An inflatable lounger is the best way to describe it. It’s kind of a lounge chair, but it’s more like an inflatable hammock or sofa. It’s long and plenty of room for two stretched out, or three seated sideways. It floats, too, so it’s sort of a raft.
We actually can’t decide exactly what Chillbo Shwaggins is. But we want one just the same.
Ideal for lying around the backyard or reading in the park, it also makes a killer camp chair. It would also be fun at a music festival, and amazing under the stars at a fireworks display. And we can definitely imagine lounging in it on one of those long summer beach days that turn into beach nights. Just inflate it, roll up the end, and chillax. A provided windstake lets you anchor it so it won’t blow away in the onshore breeze.
It comes in a variety of fun colors and patterns—but this is no inflatable pool toy. It’s made from tough ripstop nylon, so it should be able to handle being moved around a campsite, as long as you don’t drag it over any sharp rocks or set it too close to the fire pit or barbecue grill.
Two people can lie next to each other, as in on a hammock. And it’s 7 feet long, so three adults could simultaneously use it as an uber-comfortable inflatable sofa. The manufacturer claims an adult of up to 6’9 and 400 pounds can comfortably stretch out on the Chillbo Shwaggins.
Let’s just call it an Inflatable Lounger. Funky and functional, the Shwaggins lets you kick back in comfort, wherever you may roam. It doesn’t require an external pump, so it’s the perfect substitute for camp chairs, beach chairs, bean bags, hammocks, blow up chairs, picnic blankets—oh, and pool floats.
Chillbo negates the need for a heavy, electricity-dependent air pump thanks to its ingenious design. You don’t “blow” it up; rather, you swoop it around, roll up the end, then buckle the corners together. There’s a handy instructional video that describes this better than we ever could. Chillbo admits this maneuver takes some practice to do quickly and perfectly, but once you have it down you’ll have your Shwaggins inflated in less than a minute.
A compact design, lightweight portability, simple setup process, and eye-popping patterns make Chillbo Shwaggins the perfect piece of loungegear. It’s the ultimate open-air plaything. And, because it’s airtight and works as a floatie, you can go from the campsite to the lake in a jiffy.
Chillbo Shwaggins comes with a handy ripstop nylon bag with an attached shoulder strap and pocket for your bibs and bobs. Once packed up, it’s about the same size as a compact sleeping bag, which means it’s super easy to cart around anywhere.
